The most populair winter activities in Zell am See – Kaprun is skiing and snowboarding. There is skiing / boarding for beginners to free-fun riders on the eternally white snow-covered Kitzsteinhorn glacier (3,029 m high). 5 Freeride slopes and 5 fun parks make it a true adventure. Zell am See is a family-friendly ski resort. Ambitious skiers will also get their money’s worth here with the 70% steep “Trass” descent, powder freerides and the XXL Funslope. Many of the slopes have beautiful views of Lake Zeller See.

The Zell am See Express lift connects Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Fieberbrunn and Leogang. With the Ski ALPIN CARD you can ski in all three regions. With a total of 408 km of slopes and no fewer than 121 lifts. Endless skiing fun and Après Ski for everyone.

Cross-Country Skiing

Starting near our chalets, you can explore more than 170 km of trails from Zell am See to Krimml. The routes run through various villages in the Salzach Valley, where you will come across numerous beer tasting huts and restaurants.

Ski Touring

Ski Touring is the ultimate ski experience. There are marked ski tour routes on the Maiskogel, Kitzsteinhorn and the Schmittenhöhe. Only go off-piste accompanied by a qualified mountain guide.

Snowshoe Walks

From our Chalets you can walk straight into the mountains. Snow shoes can be rented via our link at Brundll, where you can also book guided walks. A guide will take you to the most beautiful and safest routes.

Ice Skating

You can skate on Lake Zeller and Baden See during the very cold winters. There are also natural Ice Skating Rinks in Zell am See, Kaprun and Piesendorf. In the Eishalle of Zell am See you can skate and play Ice Hockey. Don’t miss a chance to watch an Ice Hockey game.

Snow Tubing

On the Nagelkopfbahn in Piesendorf you can slide down the mountain with snow tubs (large tires) and zipfel boppen (pancake sleds). Fun for the whole family, and as a guest of Chalet on the Rood and Apartment Smitten you get a free ride.

Paragliding

Experience the exhilarating feeling of a tandem paragliding jump, from the Schmittenhöhe. The Paragliding Office and landing point is located on the way to Kaprun, just 5 minutes away from our chalets.

Winter Walking

Winter walking from our Chalets can be done at your own pace. There are various hiking trails in the valley, and along the lake or in the mountains (Hiking ticket can also be bought for the ski lift). Walking route maps are available for you in the Chalets..

Horse Sleigh Ride

At just 1.4 km from our Chalets, you can book a horse-drawn sleigh ride. Book a romantic ride for two or a fun family/friends tour through the Salzach Valley.
