May we introduce ourself?
We are Jos and Jeanette Rood. We live in Heerhugowaard in the Netherlands and are the proud parents of 4 children, their partners and 5 grandchildren. Prior to owning the Chalet we owned a bakery with 6 retail shops.
In 2017 we bought and fully refurbished Chalet on the Rood near Zell am See – Kaprun. Our dream came true!
Together with our whole family and a group of friends, we renovated the Chalet and we are extremely proud of it! Everyone has their job. One person takes care of social media, another of invoicing, another is responsible for the furnishings and handiwork – we really all do it together. Even all the technical services are in house. With an electrician, a carpenter and all kinds of creative people in a family, you can achieve anything!
Our whole family enjoys winter sports. The children, grandchildren and other family members often join us for holidays in our Chalet. Over this period we have all also discovered the other seasons in the mountains, and have truly become fans of Zell am See – Kaprun.
APART SMITTEN
In 2022, our son, Jorik, who moved to Austria in 2019, built his own chalet next to CHALET ON THE ROOD. During the Winter he is a ski and snowboard instructor, and in the Summer months he works as a carpenter in the area.
He has created APART SMITTEN, a beautiful 6 persons apartment on the ground floor of his chalet. All the woodwork was done by Jorik with the help from his colleagues and friends.
CHALET ON THE ROOD & APART SMITTEN t going together as CHALET- APART AUSTRIA Of course you can book them separate. But also together for a wonderful holiday destinations all year round, in the beautiful surroundings of Zell am See – Kaprun.
Personal and Reliable
All bookings are also done directly by us and have said goodbye to the large booking companies. We enjoy direct and personal contact with our guests, and have noticed that our guests appreciate the personal touch. Guests are free to contact us directly with any questions.
